User Guide

Login and account

Open the team website address, click “Login”, enter your username and password. Registration of a new team is a separate form: after registration, an email with address confirmation is sent - follow the link from the letter to complete the creation of the team. If the email has not arrived or the link has expired, the site has a resend form (email confirmation section - the link usually leads from the login screen or from the letter).

• Invitation to the team - a one-time link from the administrator: open it in the browser, set a name, login and password, and immediately get into the application.
• Forgot your password - on the login screen there is a link “Forgot your password?”: enter the e-mail specified in your profile; You will receive an email with a link to a new password (the link does not last long and is a one-time use). Without an e-mail in your profile, recovery will not work - first log in using another method or ask the administrator for help with access.
• After logging in, the application will open with a side menu (on a wide screen) or a bottom panel (on a phone).
• Exit - in the “My Profile” / Profile Settings section.

Navigation

• Events - calendar and meeting cards (rehearsal, service, etc.).
• Media Library - all songs: search, table, adding, importing.
• Playlists - personal selections and quick access to event set lists for rehearsal.
• Chat - team correspondence.
• Settings - zoom, notifications, profile, for administrator - branding, invitations, MP3 download, etc.
• The list of musicians opens from the settings (there may not be a separate button on the mobile bottom panel).

Song library

List of all team songs: search by name, table, adding and importing. From here, a song card opens with lyrics, chords (including ChordPro), key, BPM, and, if available, MP3 and a playback block with stems.

• Search - quickly filter by name.
• New Song - The “Add Song” page opens from the “Add Song” button in the library and offers three options: import from the site, import from YouTube, or manual entry.
• Filter “has a playback” - leave only songs where tracks for playing with minus are already loaded.
• Import via a link from the site - insert the address of the parsing page on HolyChords or KG-MUSIC (if the team server supports this import): the title, text and chords will be pulled up first, the audio can be downloaded in a separate step - do not close the tab until the import is completed.
• Import audio from YouTube - insert a link to a YouTube video: the application itself will download the audio track (~128 kbps) and add it to the library. The process takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes - wait for the “Song saved” message. The supported formats are youtube.com/watch?v=… and youtu.be/…. The button shows a loading indicator - do not close the page while it is in progress.
• Rights - only administrators can add songs, import and download MP3s to the team’s shared library. Participants look through the list, play and work with set lists; If you try to save a song to a server without rights, a clear error message will appear.
• Thelarge screenusually shows a wide table and a side or top action zone; on a narrow screen the same list is compressed into a column, adding buttons and filters are transferred to a compact view.

Local drafts in the browser and a shared database on the server can coexist; It is important for the team to store what is current in a common media library (see the next block).

Local songs and shared library

Sometimes a song exists only in your browser - this is not an error. Such positions are marked with the phrase “Song locally”: they are not visible to other participants and your other devices until the song gets into the shared library on the server.

• How to publish to a team - the administrator in the song menu has an action like “Publish for the team”: the song and the associated MP3 are transferred to the server and become shared.
• You don’t have the right to publish yourself - on the song page or in the set list, you can click “Suggest to admin (in general chat)”: a short application with a title and a link to the card will go to the team’s general chat. The administrator will see the message and will be able to add material to the shared library if necessary.
• You can include a local song in your playlists and draft setlists on your device; on other people's screens without a server copy it may appear as unavailable - look for the “Song locally” mark.

Mass selection of songs

In the library list (primarily on the phone), you can mark several songs and in one action add them to the event setlist or to the playlist.

• How to enable - click “Select”: a selection indicator will appear for each line; Tap on a line to mark or remove a song. At the bottom there is a panel: the “Selected: N” counter, the “All” buttons (mark all visible after the search) and Done (exit the mode without action), as well as two large buttons “Set list” and “Playlist” - the destination selection will open.
• Set List - a list of your events will open: select a meeting to add the marked songs to its set list (without duplicating existing numbers).
• Playlist - select an existing selection or create a new one; the selected songs will be added to the end of the list.
• Readability in a dark theme - the background and colors of the selected line, title, artist and chips (BPM, key, “Song locally”, “PB”) are selected so that the text does not “disappear” in the backlight; If something seems unreadable after updating the app, refresh the page without the cache.
• On a wide screen the same marks are available through checkboxes in the media library table in selection mode; the selected lines are highlighted.

Song Page (Normal Mode)

Open a song from your library. The title, artist, key and tempo are displayed here (BPM from the card, or auto-suggest from the text if the text contains a line like “72 bpm”). Transposition of chords only changes the display, not the saved text on the server.

• Transposition - buttons and reset to the original key.
• Capo on fret - “Capo” button in the control grid (next to the tuner button). Click it and a panel will open with the “−” and “+” buttons and the current fret. Specify which fret your guitar capo is on: the app will automatically show the chords you actually presson the fretboard, while the team sees the sounding key unchanged. The button lights up purple and shows the fret when the capo is exposed. The setting is stored separately for each song and synchronized between devices.
• Editor - editing text and chords; if necessary, a local copy before synchronizing with the server.
• LIVE - large full-screen mode for rehearsal and performance (see next section). The link preserves the context of “where it came from” (for example, from an event).
• Download PDF, Share PDF, Share link - three buttons in one line along the width of the screen (on a very narrow display, captions may be wrapped on two lines inside the button). The PDF is generated with a readable layout for a musician: chords - in bold monospace font, lines of text - in regular font; part markers like [Chorus] or (verse) are visually separated. The file contains the title, artist, if necessary, key and full text in the transposition selected on the screen. If capo is set, an additional badge “Capo: N mode” is printed in the PDF next to the key.
• Share PDF - the “Share” system menu opens on the phone and in supported browsers: you can send the finished PDF to Telegram, mail or another application. If the browser does not know how to transfer the file, the application may offer to copy the parsing text or save the file for manual sending.
• Share link - Copies or opens a link to this song page in the application (so that a colleague opens the same card in the browser), rather than the PDF file.
• MP3 - built-in player if the song has an audio file.
• Metronome - floating button at the bottom center (“Rhythm” or BPM number). During playback, the button flashes to the beat(regular beat and accent on the downbeat). You can expand the panel: tempo, time signature, choice of downbeat (which beat is emphasized). For long time signatures (for example, six or more beats per measure), the beat indicator is shownon one linewith horizontal scrolling—convenient on a narrow screen. “Collapse” leaves the metronome to play, the cross - stops and closes.
• Playback / multitracks - block under the buttons (not in LIVE mode): individual tracks, volumes, if stems are loaded for the song on the server. For the administrator, while the tracks have not yet been loaded only on the server and locally, a short hint is shown; the full text is in the tooltip next to the “?” (hover or hold your finger).
• Song menu - additional actions (including set list for administrator).

Personal notes for the song

You can make your own notes for the analysis, which only you can see on this device (in the browser): the general lyrics of the song for the team do not change.

• Where to open - on the song page, the “Notes” block / plus pill: opens a ChordPro-style editor with the full lyrics and chords of the song.
• How to mark your lines - start a line with // (recommended), or the legacy version with # (or ＃), or a line with >. The display prefix is ​​hidden; lines are highlighted in blue in the card and in LIVE.
• In the middle of a verse - a note can be inserted between the lines of the general text; it does not replace adjacent chord lines.
• Storage - note data is stored locally with you; When you change browser or clean up the site, they may disappear - for the command, continue to use the general text through the “Editor”.

LIVE

Dark full-screen interface for rehearsal and performance: large text with chords, convenient to keep your phone on the stand. The top header of the application is hidden; The bottom navigation bar remains on the phone to quickly go to another section. Login: LIVE button on the song page or transition from the event set list - then the address has an event parameter, and navigation through the list is available. The page address uses the ?mode=live parameter (old links with mode=stage also work).

“For everyone” mode and the “Lead” button - for the whole team

This is not a separate screen, but an option inside LIVE for logged-in users when a PHP API session is available on the server (typical hosting with an application). The idea: one person leads a rehearsal or sound check, and the others who opened the same session see the same song and the same key, without arguing “what key we’re in.”

• Who sees the buttons - only after logging into your account. A guest without a login or in session mode without this function will not see the synchronization block. If there is no button, the API may be unavailable from your address or disabled on the server.
• Start as a presenter - while you are not following anyone, on the right under the header you can see a gray button “For everyone”: click it to become a presenter. The signature will change to “Leading” (orange indicator with a pulsation) - you are sending the current song and transposition (semitones) to the server. Under the presenter’s header is a banner “Broadcast on · N participants.”
• If you are already following the leader - instead of the button, a purple “For everyone” badge is shown (follower status, not a push switch).
• For subscribers (other musicians with open LIVE): banner “Synchronization with the leader · live broadcast”. Their tone is adjusted to the leader automatically (as soon as the same song as the leader's is opened). If the leader switches a song in the set list, the app goes to the same card for subscribers—no need to search for the number manually. The general transpone set by the leader for the session can also be displayedin the library list(key chip) - so that the vocalist can immediately see the current tone of the team without opening each song.
• Navigation “previous/next” is disabled for subscribers in this mode, so as not to separate from the leader; The host flips through the set as usual.
• One leader per team at a time: if someone is already “leading”, the others are shown the synchronization status without the ability to assign a second leader until the first one ends the session.
• How to turn off - the presenter presses “Leading” again (this ends the session on the server). While synchronization is in progress, focus on the banners and the fact that the tonality of the subscribers matches the leader.
• Technically the client polls the state at short intervals (on the order of a few seconds) and applies updates; you need stable access to the application API.

Top panel

• Back - return to the list or event.
• Name - in the center; if a song is opened from the set list and the next one is known, a running line is shown: the current song and the hint “next: ...”.
• From the event set list - buttons “previous” and “next” song in the same set list, a counter of the form 3/8. The last song may have a "Finale" transition to the event instead of "next".
• Set list (curtain) - a button with a list of notes icon on the right in the header opens a side panel with the entire order of songs for the selected event: a numbered list of titles, the current song is highlighted. Click on any line - this song will open in LIVE. Close the panel: cross, tap on the darkened background to the left of the curtain or Escape key. If you accessed LIVE not from the event (directly from the media library), a tooltip next to the button will explain that the full order is available when navigating from schedule or playlist, where the set list is mixed in with the link.
• MP3 - if the song has audio, a compact player is shown under the toolbar (display mode, zoom, etc.): you can listen directly to LIVE.

Screen Display Modes

Under the LIVE header on mobile (and in the same area on a wide screen), the mode switch is made in the form of one button with a caption: on the left is a colored dot (the color depends on the mode), in the center is the name of the active mode, on the right is an arrow. Pressing opens a menu of three items; selecting an item immediately applies the mode and closes the menu, clicking outside the area also closes it.

• Words + chords - familiar view: chords above lines of text (ChordPro).
• Words only - large text without chords; the service lines (part markers, chords only, personal notes with //) are still visually separated from the verse.
• Chords only - large blocks for guitarists; repeating fragments are collapsed with ×2, ×3marks (see below). Under the mode line there is “Your sheet”: you can substitute a number of chords from the song lyrics and edit the part lines as you need without editing the general text for the command. The draft is saved in this browser. The same content can be opened on the song page - the “Chords LIVE” tab in the editor or “Editor” from the LIVE header.
• Font size - to the right of the mode switch, the A− and A+ buttons change the size of the text in the song area (convenient for vocalists and at different distances to the eyes).

Two columns, synchronization, editor and tuner

• Two columns (columns icon) - force the analysis into two columns on the screen (convenient on a tablet or wide phone in landscape orientation). It makes sense when the breakdown shows the chords; if there are few parts, the button may be inactive. A hover tooltip explains the purpose.
• “For everyone” / “Lead” - see section on synchronization: one presenter sets the song and tone for subscribers.
• Button with pencil icon - full-screen editor of text and chords (ChordPro); the “LIVE” button in the editor closes without saving, “Save” - writes edits to the server (by rights).
• Tuner - chromatic tuner for microphone; Guitar / Bass Guitar switch (different strings and ranges).
• Capodastre in LIVE - “CAPO” button in the line next to the display mode drop-down menu. Shows the current fret (0 - capo is not set). Pressing opens a compact popup: “−” button, large fret number, “+” button, “reset” button (appears if fret > 0). Closes by touching outside the popup. The chords on the screen are recalculated instantly - just for you.

Capo - more details

Capo - personal setting for each song. The rest of the team sees their chords unchanged.

• Calculation logic: displayed chord = sounding key of the command - N semitones (N = capo fret number). These are exactly the chords you press on the fretboard when the guitar has a capo.
• Where available:
  • Song page — the "Capo" button in the control grid.
  • LIVE mode — the "CAPO" button in the row with the display mode control.
  • PDF — when capo is set, the export shows "Capo: fret N" next to the key.
• Storage: The setting is saved separately for each song; When you log in, it is synchronized between devices via the server. Stored in localStorage in the browser for instant response even without a network.
• Range: from 0 (no capo) to the 11th fret inclusive.
• Reset: set 0 with the “−” button or click “reset” in the LIVE popup.

Auto scroll text

In the right center of the screen is a vertical panel of four elements:

• Up arrow - increase speed level (1...9).
• Circle with a number - current level; Each level has its own scrolling speed in pixels per second.
• Down arrow - decrease level.
• Bottom button - start / pause autoscroll: the text moves smoothly upward; at the end the scrolling stops. Manual scrolling greatly shifts the position - autoscrolling picks it up from a new place.

Metronome

The same floating “Rhythm” / BPM button as in the normal song mode: the interface lights up and flashes in time with the metronome, the downbeat is a different color. The metronome can be opened and collapsed without stopping the game ("Collapse" button).

Repeats and compact analysis of chords (chords only mode)

If you hide the text and leave only the chords, the application does not duplicate identical lines in a row: instead, one visual block is shown and next to it is an icon × 2, × 3, × 4, etc. — how many times in a row should this fragment be played (the entire block, and not “each line separately”).

The “repeat in a circle” icon and just numbers ×N are not the same thing.In the header of the part card (“Verse”, “Chorus”...) ×N next to the icon (two arrows in a circle) means: play this entire section N times in a row - all the chord strips from top to bottom, then again from the beginning of the section. ×N without an icon on the right side of one horizontal strip means: repeat only this line of chords N times in a row; the rest of the part's markup is not restarted. Such lines often have a thin amber vertical bar visible on the left—a clue that the repetition is “local.” If several stripes are surrounded by a Block Repeat frame, the icon next to the caption inside the frame explains: ×N refers to the entire cycle of stripes in the frame: one pass - all lines of the block in order (including the last); such passes in a row must be playedNas in the ×N badge. Hovering or long-pressing on a badge reveals a short tooltip.

• Repeat an entire part of a song - at the section header × N with a repeat icon; the entire section is executed N times in a row.
• Repeat only one strip - × N without icon to the right of this line; identical lines in the markup in a row can be collapsed into one strip with such a badge.
• Repeat a block of several stripes - a frame with the caption “Repeat block”, an icon and ×N in the block header; the cycle of all stripes inside the frame is repeated the specified number of times.
• Compact layout - a short two-line pattern (two lines of chords repeated in full) can be displayed in one line with the mark× Nper block - less visual noise on the screen.

In verse mode, repeats are still read from the full lyrics; Compact ×N marks are mainly useful in chords only mode in rehearsal or on stage.

Multitrack block (playback by track) on the song page in normal mode; in LIVE it is hidden - use MP3 in the header or a separate player/console as appropriate.

Playback and multitracks

On a regular song page (not LIVE), if the administrator has uploaded separate tracks, a playback block is displayed: start, pause, rewind, volume controls for tracks (for example, click, backing, bass, guitar, etc. - as configured in the files). Track names can be automatically mapped to roles (bass, guitar, etc.). This doesn't replace an external DAW, but it does allow you to rehearse to minus music directly in your browser.

• Several files at once - when adding stems, you can select or drag several tracks at once; The track type is often guessed by the file name (for example, the words BASS, DRUMS in the title).
• ZIP - you can download or upload an archive with all tracks and descriptions (it’s convenient to transfer the playback between devices or share with your team).
• Share link - the playback may have a “Share” button: a link to download the archive is created for those who have the address (without logging into the application - according to server policy, the link may be limited in duration).

Events and schedule

The “Events” section is a calendar of rehearsals, services and other meetings. For each event, the time, place, type of meeting, line-up of musicians and set list - the order of songs from the library - are specified.

• Event Types - when creating, you can choose: rehearsal, prayer service, evening of praise, holiday, worship, or an item with your own name - then enter a short signature (for example, “Youth meeting”): it will appear on the card instead of the standard type. The color of the stripe and highlighting of the card depend on the type - this makes it easier to distinguish a rehearsal from a service on the list.
• Creation - step by step: when and where → who plays → what songs in order.
• Event card - you can see the date, time, place, who is in the line-up, whether the set list has been published.
• Set list editor - usually available to the administrator (and those who have been granted rights): you can change the order of songs and select numbers from the library. The order on your phone and tablet can be changed using the up / down buttons next to the row (finger dragging is disabled so as not to be confused with page scrolling). On a screen with a mouse, drag-and-drop rearrangement can remain available.
• Add songs from library - the “Add from library” button opens a list of songs; Once selected you are usually taken back to the event editor without any extra windows.
• Share set list - in the set list editor, a participant with access has a “Share set list” button: a link and a QR code are created. The link opens a page with a list of songs without logging into your account (convenient for a guest or musician “to view”). The link is valid for a limited period (about 30 days - the exact number is shown in the window).
• From a song in the set list - jump to LIVE with “previous / next” navigation through this list.
• Unavailable position - if a song has been deleted from the shared library, but a line in the set list remains, the administrator can remove such a position using the delete button so as not to disrupt the order.
• Offline - an open event can be saved for work without the Internet (a warning bar will appear if the network is lost).
• OnPCthe calendar and event list are usually wider, with multiple columns or a large grid; on phone the same data is shown in a column: scrolling through dates, then an event card with the full text without reducing functions.

Playlists

Personal selections from your library: track order, consecutive listening, shuffle and repeat modes. At the top of the page is the Tools block: quick access to the tuner (guitar / bass guitar) and metronome without going to the song. Below are playlist cards and links to event set lists: you can open the event and go to the songs in LIVE.

• Creating and deleting collections, adding songs from the library.
• Player inside the playlist - large play button in the center, previous and next track, progress bar with rewind, step ±10 seconds for quickly adjusting the location.
• Shuffle - random order of tracks in the current listening session.
• Repeat - usually three modes: off; repeat the entire playlist from the beginning after the last song; repeat one current song. Toggle until the option you want appears.
• Phone: lock screen and headset - while the playlist is playing, the system can show a “now playing” card on the lock screen and in the notification shade: song name, artist, album indicates the name of the playlist. From headphones or a car system, pause, next/previous track and rewind are often available - just like a regular music application (depending on the phone model and firmware).
• Tuner and metronome on the same page - the same capabilities as the song (metronome with flashing in time during playback). The metronome window in the playlists section, if necessary, scrolls against a darkened background in its entirety.

Chat

Built-in team chat: correspondence within the application, without a separate messenger. You can send text, attachments, voice messages (if the browser allows the microphone).

• On the phone, the chat opens in full screen: first the list of rooms, then the correspondence; The back arrow returns to the list.
• On the computer, a split view is convenient: rooms on the left, messages on the right - you can quickly switch between topics without losing context.
• Your messages - the sent text message can be edited (typo, clarification) if necessary. An edited message is marked as modified.
• Unread counter - when a room is open, new messages in it should not be “stuck” in the counter: the number on the chat icon refers to other rooms or to the general wait without duplicates.
• Time - displayed in the time zone of your device without unnecessary shift relative to the server time.

Settings - for any user

This is where convenience is configured, not “server policy.”

• Size of text and buttons - regular, large or very large (comfortable on a phone and for people with low vision).
• Browser notifications - if you allow, you can receive reminders about events (depending on the settings of the site and browser).
• Profile and team - name, tool, e-mail in profile (it is advisable to indicate it to recover the password), change password, log out of account; link to the list of musicians.
• HolyChords - if necessary, credentials for advanced import are saved (import by link often works without them).
• Community on VKontakte - in the contacts and support block there is a link to the official group vk.com/prayer_worship: release news, answers on use and feedback (convenient if VK is more convenient than mail).
• Session musician - if the leader has given you a special link (guest access), after opening the link you work in a simplified mode: playlists, viewing songs and LIVE by set list are available. You should not be redirected to the login screen when going to, for example, playlists - while the session via the link is active, the “session musician mode” banner and the exit button from this mode are active. When the leader leads a general LIVE session, the current transpon for the team is pulled from the server and can be displayed in the media library in the key chip (green accent if the key is shifted relative to the original lyrics of the song).

Settings - Administrator

In addition to the list above, the administrator has tools for the entire team.

• Branding - team name, description and logo in the side menu (how all participants see you). Empty fields do not substitute someone else's name by default - until you fill it in, neutral prompts are displayed.
• Uploading MP3 in batches - bulk uploading of files to the server and then adding lyrics to songs.
• Invite Members - a one-time link to register a new person on the team.
• Backups and maintenance of the media library - as blocks appear in your version (export, bulk import from HolyChords, fixing audio paths) - see the prompts on the screen.

Offline, PWA and session mode

• PWA - in a supported browser you can “install” the site on the main screen: it opens as an application without an address bar (depending on the OS and browser).
• Offline - an open event and associated data can be cached for offline viewing; If the connection is lost, a warning will appear.
• Session musician - via a one-time link from the leader: simplified access to the playlist and set list of one rehearsal without a full team account (if so configured).

Platform Tab

A very small number of users have a second tab in their settings - Platform. There is an overview of organizations (teams) on this server: statistics, roles, mail confirmation, mailings. For the super-administrator there can be a mail check (SMTP) block: look at the status of the server settings (without displaying passwords) and send a test letter to the specified address - to make sure that registration, invitations and password resets reach the mail. This screen is not shown to ordinary musicians and the administrator of one church.

If there is no such tab, it means that your account is not marked as a platform observer; This is fine.
